Attend Indiana Arts Commission’s Web Café at Arts Illiana

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana Arts Commission will host a statewide Web Café at 10 a.m. Dec. 5 to enlist public input on the next phase of the agency’s strategic plan. Arts Illiana will serve as the Terre Haute satellite location.

Working collaboratively with the Indiana State Library and Regional Arts Partners, the IAC will host its first “Web Café” to gather input from Hoosiers on the top goals, objectives and priorities for the final (2014-2016) phase of the commission’s current strategic plan.

“This Web Café is a first for the Indiana Arts Commission, but a step toward greater engagement with our constituents,” said Lewis C. Ricci, IAC executive director.

“When we developed the current strategic plan, we held a series of public forums throughout the state to gather public input that shaped the goals and objectives for the plan. By embracing this technology, and through the generous assistance of the Indiana State Library and Regional Partners, we will accomplish in one virtual statewide meeting what once took several weeks to accomplish.”

Todd Wetzel, director of Convocations at Purdue University, will serve as facilitator of the Web Café at the host site, Indiana Government Center South, Conference Room 19. Before joining Purdue, Wetzel served as the first director of the Vincennes University Center for the Arts.

Live audiences at the host and satellite sites will be asked to rank the top three strategic plan goals and objectives for 2014. This will be followed by an open-ended question and answer session.

“Arts Illiana is pleased to partner with the Indiana Arts Commission and serve as a Web Café host for the Wabash Valley region,” said Jon Robeson, executive director of Arts Illiana. “As a public agency, the commission’s current strategic plan, as well as its accomplishments and trajectory are important to the statewide arts community. It’s essential for tax payers and all of the collaborating organizations to have access and input with the work of our state arts commission.”

People attending the Web Café should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the session beginning. For more information about how to log into the Web Café, visit

“As stewards of the public’s resources for the arts, the commission has been and continues to be committed to enlisting the public’s voice in our planning process,” Ricci said.

The Web Café is free and open to the public. Those unable to attend can participate in a live webinar at 6 p.m. from any computer with Internet access. To access this webinar, visit

Arts Illiana is at 23 N. Sixth St. For more information, call 812-235-5007.
