Christmas for the Kids Run set
The eighth annual Christmas for the Kids Run, sponsored by Bikers Helping Children Who are Less Fortunate, will be Nov. 3. If weather permits, the ride will begin at noon at Fairbanks Park and end at Wabash Valley Harley Davidson. In case of inclement weather, riders will meet at Wabash Valley Harley-Davidson, 3912 S. U.S. 41.
Participants are asked bring a toy or a $10 donation for a new toy.
All toys will be distributed to the children by the Caring Center Church of God at no cost. All money will be used to buy new toys.

CASY Crop and Craft coming up
Enjoy a creative day of fun at CASY Crop and Craft from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at Booker T. Washington Center Gym, 1101 S. 13th St.
The cost is $30 per person and includes lunch, snacks and freebies. Register online at casyonline.org/CROP.html.
Participants must bring their own supplies and work on scrapbook pages or other craft projects. The event will feature the largest make-and-take craft selection around with new techniques and supplies. A circut and accucut machine will be available at no charge. There also will be many raffle items.

Hospital Volunteers planning book fair
The Paris Community Hospital Volunteers will host a book fair from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 2 in Conference Room B at the hospital in Paris, Ill.
The book fair, presented by Central Illinois Books, will feature savings on books and unique gift items.
Sales support the efforts of the PCH Volunteers who provide financial assistance to hospital projects and award scholarships to students who are pursuing healthcare careers.
Holiday Bazaar set
The Craft Class at the Wabash Senior Center (at Fifth and Poplar streets) is planning a Holiday Bazaar fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3.
The bazaar isn’t limited to only homemade items; vendors will be offering items such as Tupperware, Avon, 31 Bags & Purses, Stamping Up, Willow Gift & Home, homemade crafts, homemade jewelry, wood crafts, yard art, sewing merchandise, food, candles, afghans, cookbooks and more.

dinner at Fontanet
Nevins Township Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting a fried chicken dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Fontanet Firehouse at 8915 N. Baldwin St.
The menu will consist of fresh, country style, hand-battered fried chicken; green beans; mashed potatoes and gravy; cole slaw; bread and butter; homemade dessert; iced tea; and lemonade or coffee.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the Nevins Township fire and rescue fund.
Lloyd Wood returns to Boot City Opry
Lloyd Wood, a favorite entertainer at the Boot City Opry in Terre Haute, returns to the stage this Saturday night. Wood is a great singer of classic country and a master of impressions who never fails to deliver a great show. After a career of owning his own theater in Nashville, Ind., Wood now performs routinely at various venues throughout the tri-state area. The Lloyd Wood Show is backed up by a great team of professional musicians.
The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $11.
