ROCKVILLE — The Art Gallery in Rockville is preparing for the Covered Bridge Festival with expanded hours.

The gallery will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 20; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 21.

No matter the weather, festivalgoers can enjoy the talent of Parke County artists in this light and airy historical building of 1877, which at one time was a men’s department store on the first floor and the Odd Fellows’ Lodge on the second.

The upstairs is currently being renovated for classes, storage for the permanent collection and special events.

The Art Association began 48 years ago.

Artists have been busy preparing popular pieces that include bridges, barns and landscapes. Featured work includes a variety of media including oils, watercolor, acrylics, jewelry, pencil, photography, pottery, wood and gift items.
