‘Singing in the Park’ for literacy Sept. 29

The community is invited to bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun and song on Sept. 29 at Deming Park in Terre Haute.

The fundraiser, “Singing in the Park,” will take place at the Larrison Pavilion stage. Attendees can join in the singing from 1 to 4 p.m. with free karaoke. Hotdogs and soft drinks will be available for purchase. P&T Carriage Rides will provide horse-drawn rides through the park.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Educational/Family Services in West Terre Haute, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods. The organization provides area residents with free GED preparation and basic education for adults, and free tutoring for children.

For more information or for other ways you can help, contact Penny Sullivan at 812-535-4206 or efspenny@frontier.com, or visit EducationalFamilyServices.org.
