Milling and Craft Demonstration days this weekend in Bridgeton

Milling and Craft Demonstration days in Bridgeton are set for Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Milling Days at the Mill celebrates the birthday of Oliver Evans, the father of modern milling. Tour the Bridgeton Mill and see the 200-year-old French buhr stones grind corn into cornmeal and grits.

Stock up on cornbread and pancake mixes made using the mill’s own organic stone-ground products.

Craft Demonstration Days at the 1878 House & Barn and the Waterfall View Barn at the Mill features pioneer and modern crafters at work creating their wares. See woodworkers and bowl carvers, a pottery artist, quilters, spinners, knitters, and other fiber artists demonstrating and selling unique hand-made items. Meet the artisans at the mill. Tour the 1822 Case Log Cabin and learn about how the early settlers lived.

Admission and parking are free.

Bridgeton is 10 miles south of Rockville, or take Indiana 59 north from Brazil to the Bridgeton billboard and turn left, or travel east of Rosedale 8 miles and follow the blue signs. For more information call 765-548-2136.
