Art Gallery in Rockville announces summer art classes for kids, adults

The Gallery in Rockville will offer classes throughout the summer. A variety of topics will be covered, most lasting two to four days. All will be conducted in the renovated second floor, which offers plenty of room and great lighting.

Registration should be made one week in advance of class. Call the Gallery at 765-569-9422 for more information and to sign up.

A list of the classes, times and total fees for June (scheduling for July and August will be announced later):

• Adult Drawing, four classes: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 30, June 6, 13, and 20. Cost: $40. Bring a drawing pad and pencil.

• Adult Oil Painting, four classes: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31, June 7, 14, and 21. Cost: $80, materials included.

• Adult Presentation — “Composition in Art” by Joe Ashby (power point): 7 to 8 p.m. June 6. Cost: donations will be accepted.

• Mosaic Mirror Box, two classes, kids grades 3-6: 2 to 4 p.m. June 5 and 6. Cost: $25, materials included.

• Watercolor for Kids, grades 3-6: 2 to 4 p.m. June 10 and 11. Cost: $20.

• Adult Presentation — “Trip to Africa,” power point: 5:15 p.m. June 17. Cost: donations will be accepted.

• Kids Photo Shoot and Photo Shoot Critique, grades 5-8: 9 to 11 a.m. June 18 and 19. Cost: $25. Students need to bring a camera, but not one on a cell phone.

• Kids Beginning Drawing, grades K-3, “Fun With Zoo Animals”: 2 to 4 p.m. June 24-25. Cost: $20.

• Kids Clay Monsters Class, grades K-3; 2 to 4 p.m. June 27 and 28. Cost: $20.

The Gallery on the north side of the square is open from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. daily (except closed Tuesdays) and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
