TERRE HAUTE —
Community Theatre of Terre Haute will stage auditions for its summer performance at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Titled “8: The Play,” this readers-theater play is a peek inside the trial of Perry v. Schwarzenegger, the federal court case for marriage of homosexual couples. The play is named after Proposition 8, the law that took away the right for homosexual couples to marry in California in 2008. It was written by Academy Award winner Dustin Lance Black, who also wrote “Milk” and “J. Edgar.”
Roles are available for 16 adult men and women, two young boys and one teen boy. The play will be performed on the main stage at 8 p.m. on June 27, 28 and 29 and at 2:30 p.m. on June 30. It will be directed by Ed Browne. Send audition questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more at ctth.org.
