Portrait award winner to teach workshop in Paris on April 20

PARIS, ILL. — Kari Rajkumar, an award-winning portrait artist from Paris, Ill., has received an honorable mention for her pastel portrait “Tom ‘Bear’,” in The Pastel Journal’s annual Pastel 100 international art competition.

The portrait has been published in the April 2013 issue of the magazine. This is the third magazine publication for this primarily self-taught artist in as many years.

In addition to creating portraits, Rajkumar also teaches art classes and workshops for students of all ages. She will teach a one-day workshop on basic realistic drawing techniques on April 20 at The Bicentennial Art Center, 132 S. Central Ave., Paris, Ill.
