Arts Illiana Fall Exhibition, grant awards ceremony Oct. 18

Arts Illiana will present its Fall Exhibition and grant awards ceremony featuring artwork of talented Wabash Valley artists on Friday.

Pieces in the Fall Exhibition include paintings, drawings, photography and more.

In addition, Arts Illiana’s Sales Gallery offers a selection of jewelry, pottery, greeting cards and other unique and original items.

All items in the exhibit are for sale.

An opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. will feature music by Terre Haute musician Dave Goodier.

At 7, Arts Illiana will recognize and present grant awards to the 2013-2014 recipients of the Regional Initiative Grants.

Arts Illiana administers this grant program on behalf of the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

This year’s recipient organizations include: the Swope Art Museum, the Terre Haute Symphony Association, Art Spaces Inc., Community Theatre of Terre Haute, Putnam County Playhouse, Community Theatre of Clay County, Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra, Crossroads Repertory Theatre, Indiana State University Art Gallery, Indiana State University Community School of the Arts, Indiana State University School of Music, Terre Haute Children’s Choir and Terre Haute Community Band.

Recipients of the Indiana Arts Commission’s 2013-2014 Individual Artist Grants from the Wabash Valley also will be recognized. They include Arthur Feinsod of Vigo County and Mark Smith of Clay County.

The event is free. Drinks and light hors d’oeuvres will be available.
