The Brazil Concert Band will present “Keep Calm And March On” at 8 p.m. Sunday at Forest Park, rain or shine.
The band welcomes John Philip Huber who earned his master’s in music performance with merit honors recently from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales.
Also appearing will be his friend Sarah Colbert, a graduate of Birmingham (England) Conservatoire, performing on bassoon.
Huber will continue his musical education with a post-graduate degree at Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. He will perform “La Belle Americaine” on the euphonium and will conduct two British marches, “Wellington March” and “Punchinello.”
Janelle R. Huber, in her last appearance with the band this year, will conduct “First Suite In E Flat” by Gustav Holst. She has accepted the position of band director at Red River High School in Grand Forks, N.D.
The concert will include “Brighton Beach,” “Colonel Bogey,” “Imperial Echoes,” “The Royal Welch Fusiliers,” “British Eighth” and “Folk Song Suite.”
The band is directed by Matthew S. Huber.
