Community Theatre of Terre Haute director Mark Frederick will be looking for four men and four women to make up the cast for the musical celebration, “Taking My Turn.” Auditions will be staged at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Community Theatre at 1431 S. 25th St. Those auditioning should prepare a song and bring music for the accompanist. No dancing is required.
“Taking My Turn” is a musical about aging that is irrepressibly young at heart. It musically reviews some of the concerns and anxieties, the complaints and enjoyments that are peculiar to people in their prime. It won the 1984 Outer Critic’s Circle Award for Best Lyrics and Music.
Because much of the dialogue and music is written for characters that have considerable “life experience,” the entire cast of “Taking My Turn” is late middle to late adult in age, so actors need to appear to be 50 and above.
