Santa, reindeer games, crafts, movies and more Dec. 21 at The Indiana

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana Theatre & Event Center will host “A Very Merry Indiana Christmas” on Saturday, presenting the opportunity for families to start a new tradition.

The event will include guest appearances by Santa and the Grinch as part of “Santa’s Reindeer Games” that will include a Christmas storybook station, personalized ornament making, cookie decorating and video games presented by Terre Haute’s eBash Video Game Center.

Enjoy the classic cartoon favorites of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” (noon), “Frosty The Snowman” (1 p.m.) and “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” (2 p.m.) inside the historic Indiana Theatre auditorium.

Children will become an “Elf For A Day” in Santa’s Workshop by wrapping gifts that will be donated to brighten children’s holidays through Toys for Tots.

As evening approaches and visions of sugar plums begin dancing in the heads of kids and kids at heart, the holiday festival will continue with the “Pasta and Mistletoe” dinner and a movie.

Through two buffet sessions starting at 5 and 8 p.m., dinner with Louise’s Italian will continue as a Terre Haute holiday dining tradition which was founded locally in 1939.

After enjoying a yuletide feast of Louise’s pasta, voted Terre Haute’s best Italian in 2012 and 2013, and the chance to visit the mistletoe station on the theater’s promenade, revisit your movie memories of The Indiana to be reminded that “It’s a Wonderful Life” through two showings of this inspirational holiday classic at 7:15 and 10:15 pm.

Due to limited seating for the Pasta and Mistletoe dining, advance dinner reservations are recommended.

The Indiana Theatre is at 683 Ohio St. For more information, call 812-232-8076 or email info@IndianaTheater.com.
