B.G. McPike & Solly Burton will perform at 7 p.m. July 12 in the Coffee Grounds at Terre Haute and introduce special soloists Tim Doyle and Note (Patommavat) Thammachard.
McPike and two-time Winfield National mandolin champion Burton will play new arrangements of both North American and South American favorites, including hits of Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett.
Doyle and Thammachard are the first two master of music students in Indiana State University’s guitar program, both studying with McPike.
Doyle spent several years working professionally on the Austin, Texas, scene before arriving in Terre Haute nearly two years ago. Thammachard, whom McPike met and tutored in a 2008 workshop in Thailand, won the 2010 Bangkok International Classical Guitar Competition.
Cover charge for the evening is $7. The Coffee Grounds is at 423 Wabash Ave.
