Children’s Museum to offer discounted admission during Block Party

TERRE HAUTE — On Aug. 24, downtown Terre Haute will be filled with music, food and arts and crafts as part of the 2013 Downtown Block Party. To celebrate, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum will host the Joe Hoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, and museum admission will be discounted.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with admission costing $5 for adults and children age 2 and over. Children under age 2 and members of the museum will be admitted for free.

At 11 a.m., the Joe Hoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will begin in front of the museum, on Wabash Avenue. Joe Hoops is open to ages 8 and up. Registration is $122, and space is limited to the first 85 teams. For more information or to register, visit or call Warren English-Malone, tournament director, at 812-987-1992.

The Downtown Terre Haute Block Party, stretching from Fourth to Ninth streets on Wabash Avenue, will begin at 1 p.m.
