Support Terre Haute Humane Society at Bark in the Park

The Terre Haute Humane Society’s sixth annual Bark in the Park is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairbanks Park.

The event serves as one of the organization’s major fundraisers.

All proceeds go to the Humane Society to care for the animals.

Dogs and dog owners are invited for a three-mile walk beginning at 10:15 a.m. Registration fees are $15 for each walker; dogs are free. Every participant receives a gift bag filled with doggie treats from numerous sponsors.

Dog biscuits, pet photo discounts, toys, canine soaps and rawhide treats have graced bags in the past.

All two-legged attendees receive a Bark in the Park T-shirt.

The walking event also includes pet shop vendors with items for sale and demonstrations by the Terre Haute Police Department’s K-9 unit.

 In addition, the Humane Society will be offering DNA testing, microchipping and ID tags.
