Parke Players offer up Ritz Follies variety show Saturday in Rockville

Parke Players will present the ninth annual Ritz Follies variety show at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ritz Theater in Rockville.

Scheduled to perform at the fundraising event are singers, dancers and musicians from throughout the Wabash Valley. Among the lineup of performers are: Cathy Carithers, Joe Cooper, Andrea Faucett, Homer Faucett, Debbie Hamke, Linda Huxford, Mick Mack, Dave Marty & Carol Milligan, Mission in Motion, Rick Morris, Christin Natalie, Baylee Ramey, Dorothy Smith, Andy Snowden, Sammie Tidwell, Randy Wallace, Ray Wolverton and Roger Wycoff. The show will be hosted by Don Collins.

The proceeds from the Follies will go toward the continuing operation of the Ritz Theater. The historic landmark was built in 1912 and purchased by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce in 1969.

The Parke County Chamber of Commerce sold the theater to the Parke Players civic theater company in 1998. The Ritz has undergone extensive renovation during the past 12 years. Continuous fundraising is needed to complete planned improvement projects and help offset increasing energy costs.

Donations have made the purchase of a new state-of-the art digital projection and surround sound system possible.

Admission is $7; doors open at 6 p.m. For more information visit www.parke

A Ritz Cinema web page and links to the motion picture studios is now available.
