Author to sign ‘Rub of the Green Revisited’ June 7

How about a book on golf for Fathers’ Day?

Bob Arnett will sign copies of “Rub of the Green Revisited” from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Baesler’s Market at 2900 Poplar St. Just in time for Dad’s big day on June 15.

“Rub of the Green Revisited” documents 50 years of golf in the Wabash Valley. There are stories about players, tournaments and golf courses over the decades. Many memories of long ago and more recent events are covered.

Well-known golfers are featured and many others are mentioned in more than 500 pages of articles. Some of the sections are funny while others are tributes to some of the best in the Wabash Valley. Readers might find their name, their father’s or even their grandfather’s. Tournament winners, holes-in-one and unusual experiences are chronicled.

Arnett wrote a golf column, “Rub of the Green” for the Terre Haute Tribune-Star for more than 20 years. He coached golf at Terre Haute South Vigo High School for 25 years. In addition, he won tournaments during a period of six decades.
