U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, as played by Danny Russel, is scheduled to appear at the Ritz Theater in Rockville at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 7. The event is sponsored by the Rockville Public Library.
Lincoln will recount those formative Indiana years, ages 7 to 21, that defined his character with perseverance and faith, fashioned his business and political sense, and resulted in phenomenal achievements during the Civil War.
This rendering also features “A House Divided,” “The Gettysburg Address” and “Second Inaugural.”
Russel is a two-time grant winner, courtesy of the Indiana Arts Commission, currently touring the Midwest as Lincoln.
A professional actor for more than 20 years, Russel appeared as the 16th president at the Indianapolis Fringe Festival in August, and has also worked at Beef and Boards, the Phoenix Theatre, City Center, Conner Prairie, Lilly Theatre at the Children’s Museum, the Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana State Museum.
