Collett Park to host Old Fashion Day

TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department will present the 25th annual Old Fashion Day and Arts Too from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at Collett Park.

The master of ceremonies will be Arley Price, announcing entertainment each hour beginning at noon. These will include, in order, Band of Gold, Men of Note, Crossroads Brass Band, Easy Street, and Tom Roznowski and Hometown.

Special activities include Adzooks Puppets at South Shelter, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; clowns and face-painters by Fundazzlers from 2 to 4 p.m.; hands-on pottery demonstrations from noon to 5; a horseshoe court; and hayrides and carriage rides through the park, with tickets available.

Chances And Services for Youth will be selling hot dogs, snacks and cold drinks by the Collett Pavilion. Ham and beans will be cooked at the North Shelter.

A Car Cruise-In will include the Wabash Valley Mustang Club, Wabash Valley Rodders Club, Wabash Valley Cruisers, Special Interest Car Club, Sycamore A’s and Wabash Valley Corvette Club.

The marketplace, located in the tent and pavilion areas, will feature handmade crafts, purses, jewelry and goodies, along with displays from the Wabash Valley Herb Society, Wabash Valley Quilt Guild, Wabash Valley Woodcarvers and Wabash Valley Art Guild. Children’s stories will be read and storybooks will be available.
