TERRE HAUTE —
A group of model trains will pull into the Terre Haute Children’s Museum on June 29. The museum will host Train Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Families and model train hobbyists will gather to view a variety of intricate operating model train railroads. Some of these layouts include model trains of all sizes with detailed scenery, realistic figures and elaborate structures.
A kids’ activity area will also feature train-themed craft and coloring activities. Kids will be able to express their artistic sides as they color pictures of trains and assemble a take-home train craft.
The Train Day activities are being coordinated by the West Central Indiana Model Railroaders Group, and all activities are free with museum admission. The Terre Haute Children’s Museum, at Eighth Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute, is a nonprofit institution dedicated to enriching our children’s lives through the exploration of science and technology.
Regular admission is $7 for adults and children over 24 months. Museum admission is free for members of the Terre Haute Children’s Museum and children under 24 months.
