Vigo Library kicks off teen programs with ‘Tye Dye ’Til You Drop’

TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County Public Library’s summer offerings for teens who are going into grades six to 12 will begin with the “Tye Dye ’Til You Drop” program from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at the library’s main branch.

The second event will be “Japan: Beneath the Surface” on June 27. Teens will be able to learn about the history of Japan and try Japanese arts, such as calligraphy and origami. Participants can also make candy sushi, sing karaoke or play a game of “Go.”

In July, the program events will include “The Altered Author’s Workshop,” in which teens can hone their writing skills and make book art; “Dig Into Electronics,” which will include disassembling and reassembling a computer; and “The Ultimate Pizza Party, ” which will provide a taste test of Terre Haute pizza.

All teen programs are conducted from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the main branch. The Friends of the Vigo County Public Library sponsors all summer events.
