Register child for free books

All children 5 and younger who live in the Marshall, Ill., school district can receive free books through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, thanks to funding by Gerald and Jean Forsythe.

Every month from birth until the fifth birthday, each child enrolled in the program receives a free book appropriate for the child’s age.

To enroll your child, simply fill out a registration form at Marshall Public Library, or pick up a form found in various places around the community (banks, stores, etc.) and mail it to the library.

“Members of the Clark County Optimist Club and Marshall Service League are working hard along with the library staff and volunteers to make sure as many children as possible get to take advantage of this wonderful program,” according to a press release.

Call the library at 217-826-2535 for more information.
