St. Ben’s plans Community Festival July 11-12

St. Benedict Church is planning its 17th annual Community Festival for Friday and Saturday at Ninth and Ohio streets. Activities are scheduled from 5 p.m. to midnight both evenings.

There will be family games, casino games, food booths, a beer garden, capital prize drawing, 50/50 raffles, a handmade quilt raffle, live bands and a silent auction. Some of the items offered during the auction will be sports memorabilia, a Holiday Inn weekend package, Holiday World tickets, Salty Seamon prints, sports bags, a cookout with the priests, a great variety of gift baskets, area restaurant gift certificates, car wash supplies, oil changes and auto details, jewelry store gift certificates, jewelry, adult bicycles and a popcorn machine.

Matt Westerfield will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, followed by Ellusion from 8 p.m. to midnight. The Scoop will perform from 5 to 8 on Saturday and Ignition from 8 to midnight.  

Admission is $2 for ages 21 and over. If needed, cab rides home will be courtesy of Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos and Newlin Law Firm.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the maintenance of the historic church and the parish buildings. For more information, call 812-232-8421.
