Fireworks, bands, boats July 3 at Mill Creek

The Clark County Park District will host its third annual Third of July Celebration at Mill Creek Park on July 3, featuring bands, a boat parade and fireworks visible from both land and water.

Bailout, a local band, will perform by the water from 5 to 10 p.m. Boats may anchor in the temporary No Wake Zone in front of the dock hosting the band.

The country and rock music of the Pearl Handle Band will be featured from 6 to 10 p.m. on the soccer field. Food vendors in this area will include Bud’s BBQ, Cobblers ’n’ Cream, and Al’s Lemonade.

Fireworks will be shot off at dark — approximately 9:15 p.m. — and will be visible from the soccer field and the water.

An event map detailing all locations is available on the park’s website, on Facebook and in the gatehouse at the park entrance.

Owners can decorate their boats in red, white and blue for the patriotic boat parade, starting at the boat launch at 7 p.m. and ending in the No Wake Zone in front of the band.

The winner of the Most Patriotic Boat contest will receive a free boat pass for 2015.
