Cloud Library gives access to e-books

The Marshall (Ill.) Public Library is among libraries in Illinois who are benefitting from a two-year grant project from the Illinois State Library to expand patron access to e-books.

The grant project provides library cardholders with free access to the 3M Cloud Library, a user-friendly app and lending system. Patrons can check out e-books directly from each participating library’s online catalog.

The 3M Cloud Library shared collection launched on Nov. 18 with a collection of more than 2,900 titles, many of which were new releases and resided on best seller lists.

The 3M Cloud Library app is available from the iTunes Store, Google Play and the NOOK Store. 3M Cloud Library e-books are compatible with PCs, Macs, iOS devices, NOOK Tablets, Android devices and the Kindle Fire. Users can download the app on up to six devices and can move from reading on a phone, to a tablet to a laptop.

Check Marshall Public Library’s homepage for more information on how to download the app and access e-books through the library’s catalog.

Stop in the library at 612 Archer Ave. or call 217-826-2535 for assistance.
