Bring the family for games, food, live music at St. Ben’s festival

St. Benedict Catholic Church will host its annual community festival on July 12 and 13 at Ninth and Ohio streets.

Family games, casino games, food booths, a beer garden, 50/50 raffle, handmade quilt raffle, live bands and a silent auction will take place from 5 p.m. to midnight both days.

Live entertainment will be provided by Matt Westerfield from 5 to 8 p.m. and the MacDaddys from 8 p.m. to midnight on July 12. Westerfield will perform again from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 13, and Octane will play from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Items offered during the silent auction include an autographed basketball by Indiana basketball brothers Tyler, Luke and Cody Zeller; a Holiday Inn weekend package; Holiday World tickets; a baseball autographed by George Foster of the Cincinnati Reds, Wes Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Phillies and Ron Kittle of the Chicago White Sox; Salty Seamon prints; a Jim Shore nativity scene; Indianapolis Colts items; and gift certificates from area restaurants and venues.

Admission is $2 for ages 21 and older. Cab rides home will be offered courtesy of the Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos and Newlin law firm.
