Registration open for Block Party cornhole tourney, Joe Hoops

Join in the fun with some friendly competition during the Downtown Terre Haute Block Party on Aug. 24. Registration for both the free cornhole tournament and Joe Hoops 3-on-3 Tournament is now open.

The cornhole tournament is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wabash Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets. Teams of two will square off for tournament play with registration and check-in at 5:30 p.m. The tournament will be played bracket-style.

All ages are welcome, and prizes will be awarded, with the winning team receiving a Downtown Terre Haute prize package. Advance register at tinyurl.com/o69r8oe. For more information contact Katie Shane at Katie.shane@bgibson.com.

The Joe Hoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will benefit the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, and will take place beginning at 11 a.m. in front of the museum on Wabash Avenue.

The Joe Hoops tournaments are for men, women, boys and girls, ages 8 and up, and include all skill levels. Adult tournament brackets are matched by age, height and experience. Kids’ division brackets are matched by age only. Register in advance for the tournament. The cost is $122, and space is limited to the first 85 teams. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
