Enter All-American Little Miss and Mister contest

Contestants must be registered by July 11

The All-American Little Miss and Mister contest sponsored by the Parke County Chamber of Commerce will be at 4 p.m. July 20 in the Show Pavilion at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Rockville.

Entry deadline is July 11 at the Extension Office at the fairgrounds. Registration forms are available at the Parke County Chamber of Commerce Office, Extension Office, REMC, most banks in Rockville and the Parke County Inc. Office. Forms are also be available on the Purdue Extension Parke County Office website.

Contestants must be residents of Parke County and at least 5 years of age by Aug. 1, 2013, and cannot have reached their eighth birthdays before Aug. 1.

Any contestant who has performed or competed on the professional level (for monetary gain) will be ineligible.

The purpose of the contest is to choose an all-around, wholesome Little Miss and Mister. Contestants are to appear in casual dress, preferably shorts, socks and tennis shoes. A white T-shirt to be worn during the public contest will be provided at the fair during final registration in the Livestock Show Pavilion one hour before the contest.          

Winners and the two runner-ups will receive trophies. Little Miss and Mister will also receive bank gift cards and portraits from Gobbles Knob Country Store.   

Contestants must be registered by July 11.
