Art and River Chatter continues; learn about the river through poetry, song

TERRE HAUTE — Art Spaces Inc.-Wabash Valley Outdoor Sculpture Collection and Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability continue the series of informal conversations titled Art and River Chatter as part of 2013 Year of the River.

Each event will begin at 5:15 p.m. in Logan’s Rib-Eye at 100 S. Fruitridge Ave.

• Today: What Does Art Have to do with Rivers? Part II with presenters Mark Minster and Tom Roznowski.

Topic: What does the written word have to do with rivers and how we view, understand and appreciate them? Learn about the river through poetry and song.

• June 27: Have You Been ON the River? with presenters Brendan Kearns and Kara Kish.

Topic: How can we boat, walk, run, fish, bird watch along the Wabash – what are people discovering about the river through recreation?

People of all ages are invited to chat about art and the river, and get to know other people through lively discussion. Presenters will kick off each evening by introducing images and ideas to get the conversation started. Beverages and food will be available for purchase from the restaurant menu.

Art Spaces, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create a collection of public outdoor sculpture in Terre Haute and the surrounding region of the Wabash Valley. The collection now numbers 13, with two more projects under way. Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability is a not-for-profit organization composed of people, institutions, and organizations in the Wabash Valley working together to enact earth-friendly, sustainable practices to improve personal and public health, community vitality, economic development, and the environment.
