Children’s art classes under way in June

Summer children’s art classes at the Tarble Arts Center, Eastern Illinois University, began June 6. All courses are open to both Tarble Arts Center members and non-members, with Tarble members receiving a discount on course fees.

“Summer Art Investigations I” is a multimedia class for ages 4 to 6 that meets from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through June 26. Led by Kit Morice, this class introduces the elements of art through lessons exploring a variety of 2-D and 3-D media.

“Summer Art Investigations II” for ages 7 to 9 meets from 2 to 3:15 p.m. on Fridays through July 16. Designed for younger elementary students, this class explores art studio practice in a variety of media. The class is being taught by Katy Langan.

“Introduction to Printmaking” for ages 10-14 will introduce older children to three different printmaking techniques. Josh Doniek is the instructor for this class.
