Exchange ‘Food for Fines’ in November at library

News Release

---- — Patrons owing a fine for late materials at Marshall Public Library — no matter how large or small — can exchange it for a few cans of food for the local food bank throughout November.

“Food for Fines” gives people owing the library a fine for late books, DVDs, magazines, CDs or audio tapes the opportunity to have the charges erased from their library card record and to have their library borrowing privileges restored. If any “lost” library materials are returned, the materials charges will be converted to overdue fines which also may be waived by donating food items.

Bring in at least one non-perishable food item for every $5 in fines owed and the library will donate the food to the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank.

For more information, call 217-826-2535; or visit the library at 612 Archer Ave.
