Westfield Improvement League in Westfield, Ill., is expanding this year’s annual chili cookoff to include slow cooker and soup recipes.
Anyone from the Wabash Valley is encouraged to bring their best slow cooker recipe, chili, or soup to the March 2 competition. Registration is at 3:30 p.m. and food will be served from 4 to 6.
Tasters will “vote” for their favorite entries with their spare change. Drinks and peanut butter sandwiches also will be provided. Free-will donations will be accepted.
Westfield Improvement League meets at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of the month in the Westfield Fire Station to discuss community projects. The league’s business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month in the fire station.
