The Brazil Concert Band will present “Waterfalls, Legends and the Westerner” at 8 p.m. Sunday in Forest Park, rain or shine.
“Niagara Overture” is a stately work commissioned in the 1960s while “Folk Legend” is a romantic setting of music.
Fred Jewell’s “The Westerner” captures the spirit of the Old West.
From the prolific pen of Harold Walters, the band will present one of his earlier works, “T.V. Suite,” which represents old-time television of the 1950s with background music ranging from cops and robbers to cowboys.
“Beguine Festival” and “The Westminster Waltz” are classic band music from the BCB archives.
Czech bandmaster Julius Fucik’s famous march “The Florentiner,” featured in the movie “Brassed Off,” along with “El Capeo,” “Billboard” and “The University of Illinois” will be presented.
The band is directed by Matthew S. Huber.
