Toy train sale Dec. 9 to benefit museum

An old-time toy train sale to support the Fire and Police Museum’s operation will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 9 in the museum at 1728 S. Eighth St.

Sale items include a 1924 Lionel train station, metal, std. gauge; a std. gauge G.G. 1 engine; an O gauge G.G. 1 5-car set in boxes; an O gauge Milwaukee train set in box: an S gauge A/M Flyer set and tracks, ect.; an HO gauge set; and fully illustrated hard cover railroad books.

On special display will be the Hertz Department store’s 1934 President Special passenger train, made by American Flyer Co. The store displayed the train at Christmastime from 1934 to 1954. It is now the top of the line for collectors in the country.
