Exhibit opens April 20 for River City Art Association

---- — River City Art Association members are scheduled to exhibit their work Saturday through May 11 in Gaslight Art Colony’s gallery at 516 Archer Ave., in Marshall, Ill. An artists’ reception is set for 6 to 9 p.m. CDT Saturday.

River City Art Association of Terre Haute was founded in fall 2008 as a 501(c)(3) organization. Its goal is to establish “an association of artists open to the public and to promote support and enhance an appreciation of the visual arts in and around the Wabash Valley through art exhibits, demonstrations, seminars, study groups and all other appropriate means.”

River City includes artists who paint, photograph, use pen and ink, colored pencils, do glass fusion, glass etching and woodworking to create beautiful, stirring and engaging works of art.

Displaying RCAA members include Edith Acton, glass fusion; Deb Anderson, intarsia; Mike Bender, pen and ink; Ruthann Brady, multi-media; Debbie Goodin, photography; Scott Hinton, watercolor/photography; Marty Jones, acrylic; Julia London-Meddles, color pencil/watercolor; Larry Miller, watercolor; Rob Robbins, photography; Jan Skipo, photography; Todd Stokes, photography/glass etching; Josh Spidel, photography; Thomas Swopes, acrylic/ceramics; Sheila K. Ter Meer, photography; Don Turner, charcoal/watercolor/photography; Spencer Young, photography; and posthumously, Marty Martinez, co-founder, watercolor.

All Wabash Valley artists from all mediums are invited to join River City Art Association. Current officers are Stokes, president; Robbins, vice president; Pam Sorenson, secretary; and Acton, treasurer.

Meetings are every second Tuesday of the month in the MCL Cafeteria at The Meadows shopping center.
