Indiana State University student Derick Troxell and the Crossroads Dragway are both in the running for annual National Hot Rod Association awards.
Troxel, a business major at ISU, is a candidate for ET Bracket Driver of the Year in NHRA Division 3. Troxell won the 2011 Super Pro Track Championship Summit Racing Series at Terre Haute’s Crossroads Dragway. He is one of two drivers for the university’s Team Sycamore Racing unit.
Likewise, the local track is on the ballot for Dragstrip of the Year in Division 3, which embodies the North Central sector of the nation.
Fans can vote for Troxell and the Crossroads Dragway through the NHRA’s online balloting through Nov. 30. To do so, they can go to the following web link:
The winners will be announced Dec. 10 at the NHRA Division 3 Land of the Winners awards banquet.
