Arts Illiana now accepting grant apps

TERRE HAUTE — The City of Terre Haute and Arts Illiana is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 City Arts Project Grant Program for nonprofit arts organizations.

Arts Illiana will accept proposals from Terre Haute nonprofit organizations that provide quality arts programming. For the sixth consecutive year, the city is requesting proposals for arts projects that contribute to the quality of life and the economic development of Terre Haute. Projects should also reflect the organization’s efforts to reach a broader audience, particularly underserved populations in the community.

Approved by the city council, a total of $20,000 is available for granting.

A panel will review the grant applications in a public process facilitated by Arts Illiana with the mayor’s office making the final determinations.

Applications are available online at artsilliana.org by clicking the City of Terre Haute logo on the home page. Completed proposals are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 14. The grant cycle covers projects to be completed by June 30, 2012.

If the arts organization is applying for funds for the first time, it is recommended that they call Arts Illiana to discuss the project prior to submitting an application.

For more information call Sherri Wright at Arts Illiana at (812) 235-5007 or
