Blue Ribbon winner displays photography at Rockville Art Gallery

ROCKVILLE — A new display featuring the photography skills of Rob Robbins is now on display at the Art Gallery on the north side of the square in Rockville. This one-man show will be available until April 24. Robbins was a Blue Ribbon winner in last year’s Associate Show.

Robbins, a native of Terre Haute, who returned after a 48-year hiatus, is a prize-winning photographer who “shoots to share.” Robbins is strictly a digital photographer who switched from film around 1998. He enjoys photographing images of nature as well as experimenting with documentary photography. He concentrates on capturing scenery and scenes just as he sees them, and is always looking for the unusual.

Robbins is a Fellow and life member of the National Speleological Society, a founding member of the Southport Chronic Cavers Grotto (a chapter of the National Speleological Society), and also a founding member of the River City Art Association Inc.

His photographs have graced the pages of the National Speleological Society publications and the publications of the Nature Conservancy. His talent reached international status when a band in London, England, saw one of his photos and asked to use it on one of their albums.

The Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except closed on Tuesday) and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information contact the Gallery at (765) 569-9422.
