The Covered Bridge Art Association has announced its Spring Art Show awards.
The 2008 Show consists of 46 entries of various mediums. It was judged in the following categories:
Best of Show and Popular Vote: “Winter Hydrangea,” a watercolor by Bob Whitmore.
Acrylics and Oils
First place — “Jackson Bridge,” acrylic by Susie Teschmacher
Second Place — “High and Dry,” oil by NelRose Brown; “Parkeville Church,” oil by James Colleran
Third Place — “Phillips Bridge,” oil by James Colleran; “Along the Trail,” oil by Delores Collings.
Honorable Mention — “Study in Ochre and Umber,” oil by Delores Collings; “Maple Syrup Time,” oil by Carol Nickey; “Stillness of Summer,” oil by Lois Sciotto
Pencil and Ink
Third Place — “Landscape,” colored pencil by Ellen Shaffer
Honorable Mention — “Peaceful,” ink and colored pencil by Bobbie Sue Nicholson

Judge for this year’s Show was Chiz Henrichs of Brazil. The show was dedicated to Mary Harrison, a charter member of the association. All entries will be on display until June 1. They are available for purchase and will be delivered by the artist or picked up at the end of the event.
