Indiana State University’s main library was briefly evacuated Monday evening after a student felt nauseated because of a carbon dioxide leak, a university official said.
The leak occurred at the coffee and drink shop in the foyer of the Cunningham Memorial Library, said ISU spokesman Dave Taylor.
One student reported feeling nauseated, so as a precaution, university officials evacuated all students from the 5-story library.
“Just one student felt a little nauseous,” Taylor said. “He got some fresh air and felt better.” The student was not taken to a hospital, Taylor said.
The evacuation lasted around 15 minutes, ISU police said. The leaking carbon dioxide container was taken out of the library, they said.
The evacuation occurred around 8 p.m., Taylor said.
