Authorities say the San Francisco-area woman and eight others may have tried to escape the burning car through the window opening separating them from the driver.  

3. A VOTE THAT COULD TAX ALL ONLINE BUYERS

The Senate is deciding today on a bill that would let states collect sales tax for purchases made on the Internet; it faces fierce opposition in the House.

4. POLICE OPEN MURDER INVESTIGATION INTO BANGLADESH COLLAPSE

Charges are being looked into against the factory’s owner, where the death toll from the disaster reached 645 today.

The vote was close to unanimous for the Miami Heat star, with 120 of 121 first-place votes. Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks picked up one vote.
