Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fowler

Michael B. and Barbara J. (Schmisek) Fowler of Terre Haute celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children’s families on Saturday.

The couple wed on July 27, 1963, in St. Michael’s Church in Grand Forks, N.D.

Mr. Fowler is a deputy state fire marshall, and Mrs. Fowler is a registered nurse.

The couple have three children, Dawn Kackley of Terre Haute, Eric Fowler of Milwaukee, and Heather Howard. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jurls

Fred and Frances (Krackenberger) Jurls celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a buffet luncheon for family and friends. They were married on July 26, 1953.

Mr. Jurls retired from Amax Coal Company as a mechanical manager. He then spent 10 years consulting for Tricon Industries.

The couple have two children, Bonnie and husband Michael Cash, and Douglas and wife Pamela.
