Mr. and Mrs. Don Bezy

Don and Esther Bezy of Sullivan will have an open house on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary, his 90th and her 89th birthdays.

The open house will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 105 E. Jackson St. in Sullivan.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome, and may be sent to 1420 E. County Road 200 North, Sullivan, IN 47882.

The Bezys were married on Sept. 11, 1948, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Vincennes. He is the son of the late Albert and Lelia Bezy of Vincennes. She is the daughter of the late Hermon and Helen Jones of Merom. They farmed in Sullivan County for many years, and owned and operated the John Deere dealerships in Sullivan and Terre Haute.

The couple have five children, Carolyn Comeau, Susie Pierson, Jean Miller, Pat and Lisa Bezy, and Mike and Debbie Bezy. They are also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. John C. Sparks

John C. and Shirley J. (Pierce) Sparks of Terre Haute celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and their families on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

The couple wed Sept. 21, 1963, in the Free Methodist Church formerly at 15th and Poplar streets.

Mr. Sparks retired from International Paper in 2005.

They have five children, Christy Thompson, Tammy Sparks, John Ray Sparks, Rusty D. Sparks and Holly Briley, all of Terre Haute. They also have 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur L. Taylor

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur L. Taylor of Marshall, Ill., will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 24, 2013.

Their children honored them Sept. 19 during a family gathering and dinner.

The couple request that gifts be omitted, but cards are welcome and may be mailed to 814 Chestnut St., Marshall, IL 62441.

The Taylors were married on Sept. 24, 1963, at the United Methodist Church south of Marshall. Mrs. Taylor is the former Marylin Clatfelter.

Their children are Mark Kuhn and wife Karen of Heyworth, Ill.; Carol Martin and husband Jim of Springfield, Ill.; Connie Tyler of San Antonio, Texas; Tony Taylor of San Antonio; and Liz Maurer of Marshall. They also have 11 grandchildren.
