Mr. and Mrs. Larry Abel

Larry and Rose (Miller) Abel will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary during an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, in Gospel Assembly Church at 401 W. Springhill.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome.

Hosts will be the couple’s children and grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Beck Sr.

Charlotte and Dale Beck Sr. of West Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a cake and punch reception from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the United Brethren Church annex at 2611 Thompson St.

Friends and relatives are invited. Cards and letters are welcome and may be mailed to 507 S. Eighth St., West Terre Haute, IN 47885.

The Becks were married on July 27, 1963, in Youngstown by the Rev. Dale Cottom. She is the former Charlotte Alkire. Both are retired.

The couple have two sons, Dale Beck Jr. and wife Valerie of Clark Center, Ill., and Darren Beck and wife Heather of Terre Haute; and three grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Clatfelter

Gary and Arlene Clatfelter will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 27 in the Brazil First Christian Church.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards, a written memory or photo are welcome.

The couple married on July 27, 1963, in the First Assembly of God Church.

They have one son, Gary Clatfelter Jr.; one daughter, Kelly Marshall; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Bertis Long

Bertis Edward and Margaret Ann (Madigan) Long of Terre Haute will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 1 to 5 p.m. in Breden United Methodist Church, 2228 S. Seventh St.

The Longs were married on July 26, 1953, in Breden United Methodist. He is retired from the United States Postal Service in Terre Haute. She is retired from the Vigo County School Corp., having taught at Fairbanks and Greenwood elementary schools.

The couple request that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome.
