Anniversaries: Aug. 1, 2010

Dr. and Mrs. R. Brad Lawson

Dr. and Mrs. R. Brad Lawson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of friends and family in Providence Center at St. Mary-of-the-Woods. A fall cruise to the Bahamas is planned.

The Lawsons were married July 24, 1960, in Fairbanks Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Ovid Need.

Mrs. Lawson, the former Rita Benson, retired as director of the library at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Lawson retired as associate dean and director of constituency development at the College of Technology at Indiana State University.

The couple have three children, Kara Lawson of Orlando, Fla., Kent Lawson of Terre Haute, and Kris Lawson and wife Donna of Clinton. They also have four grandsons.

Mr. and Mrs. John Daniel

Mr. and Mrs. John Daniel of West Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010.

The Daniels were married Aug. 7, 1960, in Bethesda Church at West Terre Haute.

Mrs. Daniel, the former Marilyn Long, is retired from the Vigo County School Corp. She taught at Riley, Sugar Grove and Devaney elementary schools.

Daniel also is retired from the Vigo County School Corp. He taught at Glenn and Honey Creek Junior High schools and West Vigo Middle School.  

The couple have two children, Elissa Downey and Jack Daniel. They also have one grandson.

Mr. and Mrs. Max Ramsey

Mr. and Mrs. Max Ramsey of West Terre Haute will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 13, 2010.

Their children will host a card shower from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, in Cross Lane Community Church in Terre Haute.

Friends and relatives are invited.

The Ramseys were married Aug. 13, 1960, in the Assembly of God in West Terre Haute.

Mrs. Ramsey is the former Vickie Graham. Ramsey worked at Motor Freight before retiring from JI Case

The couple have two children, Scott Ramsey of Terre Haute, and Kathy Cooper and husband Mike of Marshall, Ill. They also have one granddaughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stoffer

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stoffer will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.

The Stoffers were married Aug. 9, 1975, in Breden Memorial Methodist Church.

Mrs. Stoffer, the former Barbara Calvert, owns Hollywood Pics Photo Studio and works part time at M&J Mall in 12 Points.

Stoffer plans to retire soon from Pfizer Inc.

The couple celebrated with a trip to Australia and Dubai.
